JEE Main 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has answered the Frequently-Asked Questions on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025. The students who are going to appear for the same can check the answers on the engineering entrance exam by visiting the official website i.e. jeemain.nta.nic.in. 

The candidates may note that the last date to apply for JEE Main 2025 session 1 exam is 22 November 2024. The candidates who want to attempt JEE Main 2025 session 1 must register and submit their application forms on or before the deadline. Also, after closing the application window the correction window will be opened for the candidates. 

Candidates are not allowed to change their mobile number, email address, permanent/present address, emergency contact details, and photographs. Therefore, they should be extra careful while filling these fields. The candidates will be allowed to change any one of the following details-

Mother's name
Father's name

Class 12/equivalent details

Date of birth

Question Answer
Choice of exam cities? The choice of exam cities will be displayed based on the permanent and present addresses filled during registration. Candidates abroad can choose cities in nearby countries or any city in India.
Is Aadhaar authentication mandatory? Aadhaar authentication is optional, but candidates are advised to update it with recent details for verification.
Use of scribe? Candidates must fill out details in the certificate of undertaking (Appendix IV and VI). Roll number, centre name, district, and state should be left blank for filling at the exam centre.
What will be the medium of the JEE Main 2025 exam? The exam will be conducted in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
Is a category certificate required during registration? No, only the category certificate number, date of issue, and issuing authority need to be filled in the application form.
Are documents required to be sent to NTA by post, fax, or hand? No
Can candidates apply for Session 2 without applying for Session 1? Yes
Can NTA manually allot a JEE Main 2025 centre? No
What if JEE Main 2025 clashes with other exams? NTA will not change the allotted exam date in case of a clash with other national or state-level exams.
Can candidates select the exam date and slot? No, the exam date and slot are allotted randomly by the computer.
Is it okay to upload a blue signature instead of a black one? Yes
Can the JEE Main 2025 application be cancelled? No, once submitted, applications cannot be cancelled or withdrawn.

Can the exam centre be changed after the roll number is allotted? No, the exam city cannot be changed under any circumstances.
Can a candidate leave early after finishing the test? No, candidates must stay until the test concludes.
Is there a negative marking in JEE Main 2025? Yes
What is the exam duration for candidates appearing for both BArch and BPlanning? The duration is 3 hours and 30 minutes.
Do candidates need to select five or six subjects in Class 12? Candidates must select five subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects.
Can minors use their parents' or siblings' category certificates? No
What should candidates giving improvement exams select: passed or appearing? Such candidates should select 'passed'.
What pin code should foreign candidates (OCI/PIO) use? They should use 000000 in the pin code field.
Does the application fee include the common service charge? No, candidates must pay the common service charge separately.
How can candidates pay the application fee? Through debit/credit/UPI cards using SBI, Canara, HDFC, ICICI online gateways, or net banking.
What if a fee payment fails during the transaction? Candidates must pay the fee again and download the confirmation page. Refunds for failed transactions will be processed after the JEE Main 2025 result is declared.
