The Supreme Court (SC) today stayed the declaration of the results of the Staff Selection Commission’s Combined Graduate Level Examination 2017, according to media reports.

While the SC called the entire system tainted, severe lacunas were identified in the examinations conducted by the SSC. 

Following allegations of paper leak ahead of the examination, students took to streets demanding a CBI inquiry.

The SSC has cancelled the second shift of the ongoing SSC CGL Tier 2 exam at an exam centre in the national capital, following mass cheating reports.


On 17 February 2018, the first day of CGL Tier 2 exam, SSC had to cancel the second shift exam at one venue namely Animate Infotech, Mohan Cooperative Industrial Estate, New Delhi on the basis of prime facie evidence.

Paper chits with answers were found in the toilet of the venue having and the incident came to light after the completion of Quantitative Aptitude paper, reported NDTV. 

SSC had earlier postponed the SSC CGL 2017 Tier I examination from August 1 to August 5.

Simple steps to check result as follows: 

Step 1: Visit sscnr.net.in. 

Step 2: Click on STATUS OF COMBINED GRADUATE LEVEL EXAMINATION -2017 (TIER-I) option. 

Step 3: Enter your Registration Number/Roll Number/Date of Birth/Full Name. 

Step 4: Click on Search Status option. 


SSC CGL Examination Pattern
The entire Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:

Tier -I    Computer Based Examination
Tier -II    Computer Based Examination
Tier -III    Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive paper)
Tier-IV    Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification

Note-I In Tier-II:
Negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer in Paper-II (English Language and Comprehension) 
Negative marking 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I, Paper-III and Paper-IV (Quant, Statistics and GS)

Note-II in Tier-II:
Paper-III will be for only those candidates who apply for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO)
Paper-IV will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer
