NIIT signs pacts to impart IT training to 50,000 in China
Training and skills development company NIIT today said it has entered into two strategic agreements in China to develop a pool of IT professionals in areas like Big Data and analytics.

The partnerships with Guiyang Municipal Government and Guizhou Professional College of Electronics in Guian New District will see NIIT training up to 50,000 people in 5 years, NIIT said in a statement.

Under the agreement with Guiyang Municipal government, NIIT will establish a training base in public-private partnership model with Guiyang government to conduct IT and Big Data training for university graduates, working professionals and government employees in Guizhou province.

Additionally, NIIT and Guiyang government will also set up a Big Data Talent Research Centre in Guiyang to enhance innovation and research for scalable talent development methods for IT and Big Data in China, reports PTI.

NIIT China and Guizhou Professional College of Electronics have inked a pact to embed the former's GNIIT programme as a part of the college's curricula.

The objective of this partnership is to have a steady supply of IT talent trained inside college campus to meet the demand of growing IT and Big Data industry in Guizhou province.

"With our keen understanding of the changing skills requirement of the industry, NIIT is committed to support China in its human capacity building initiative," NIIT CEO Rahul Patwardhan said.

NIIT, which established its presence in China in 1997, has trained more than 3 lakh students in the country.
