Medical Council of India insists to start faculty teaching PG courses in Emergency Medicine

Ensuring improvement in health sector, the Medical Council of India has insisted  to start faculty teaching PG courses in Emergency Medicine.

According to reports, MCI has demanded that  students of faculty teaching postgraduate courses in emergency medicine (EM) must have at least two years training in the field.

While World Health Organisation (WHO) report pointed out staggering 70% of Indian rural population has minimal access to health care, parliamentary standing committee on health repeatedly raised concerns about vacant positions of doctors and healthcare workers in rural areas.
