Protesting against Rajathan government’s order tomake medical officers equivalent to medical teachers, over 500 teachers of SawaiMan Singh Medical College resigned on Wednesday.
“If eligibility and experience of these medical officersare made equivalent to medical teachers and seen from the perspective of MCIguidelines, then things would become very clear whether this decision is rightor not,” said Dr Dhananjai Agarwal, secretary of Rajasthan Medical CollegeTeachers Association (RMCTA).
He threatened that if these medical officers aredeployed in new colleges and made equivalent to medical teachers then MedicalCouncil of India will cancel the affiliation.
