While the policy is being prepared by a nine-member panel headed by former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman K. Kasturirangan, the panel held a meeting recently.
"They have said that we can have the first draft of the policy by December end.... It will be implemented as soon as possible after it has been debated (in Parliament)," Javadekar said during a press conference.
Government of India has declared November 11 as the National Education Day in memory of India's first Education Minister Maulana Abdul Kalam.
In Nagaland, a programme was organised by Nagaland Education Association (NEA) on Education Policy.
NEA President Zavise Rume said the NEA wants the state government to formulate state education policy in order to ensure social transformation by having a strong policy which will not only depend on quantity but impart qualitative education.
"Education is considered as the agent of change as people look up for solutions through the time and space of education as the present era of modern technology is uncertain and filled with moral degradation," Nagaland Public Service Commission, Member Vipralhou Kesiezie said at the programme.
