Engineering Degree: AICTE Makes Yoga Mandatory For Students
New Delhi 

In order to obtain their engineering degree, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has made yoga  mandatory  students for students. 

As per HT report, the institutions have had activities including National Social Service (NSS) and National Cadet Corp (NCC), but it was not mandatory to participate in these activities for getting a degree. Now, AICTE has made it mandatory for students. Officials have said that the move will contribute to a holistic development of the student. Although there are no marks allotted for the same, students will have to cut out 25 per cent of their attendance into these activities.

The reports months after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to make Yoga education compulsory in government schools across the state. 

The UP CM has reportedly issued an order to start mandatory self-defence training for girl students in government schools.
