BJP objects to recruitment process in Rajasthan University
BJP on Monday demanded that the process of recruitment of faculty members in the University of Rajasthan be stopped as it could influence voters ahead of the Assembly polls.

“The selection committee''s constitution and University Teachers''/Officers Selection Act, 1974 are being violated by the varsity by conducting interviews for assistant professors in various departments when the elections have been announced,” state party spokesperson Kiran Maheshwari told reporters here.

BJP urged the Chief Electoral Officer to ensure that the process is stopped as it violates the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

When contacted, a spokesman of Rajasthan University told PTI that the recruitment process for 390 posts of assistant professor in 42 departments was being done with the permission of EC, and following the guidelines of the Supreme Court.

“There is no violation of any rule or MCC in conducting interviews,” he said.
