President Pranab Mukherjee will host a two-day conference of vice-chancellors of central universities later this week here.
A Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson said the agenda of this years VC's conference includes action taken on recommendations made in last year's conference, steps to improve quality of education in Central Universities by creating inter-linkages with Industry, interfacing with ranking agencies and use of technology for access, equity and quality in higher education.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, minister for human resource development M M Pallam Raju, ministers of state for hrd, chairman of the national innovation council Sam Pitroda, UGC chairman and others will participate in the conference to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on February 6 and 7, the spokesperson said.
The President is a visitor to these universities. This is the second such conference of central university VCs convened by Mukherjee since he charge.
The President had also convened a conference of directors of National Institutes of Technology November last year.
