Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today pledged to bear the educational expenses of a student from the state''s Banihal town at a prestigious college in Rajasthan.
13-year-old Tauqeer Ahmad, during his interaction with the Chief Minister today, expressed his desire to study at Mayo College in Ajmer.
“The Chief Minister told him that he will bear all expenses of the student in Mayo College when he obtains admission there,” a government spokesman said.
The Chief Minister made the pledge during an interaction with a group of students who had visited various places across the country including Ajmer, under Operation Sadhbhawna of the Army, he said.
The students, who returned from the tour, shared their observations and experience with the Chief Minister.
