FISAT to contribute 25 new projects to IIT, Bombay
The Kerala-based Federal Institute of Science And Technology will contribute 25 new project ideas to IIT Bombay, for bettering Aakash Tablet.

The project named Aakash Android Application Development was initiated by the Centre for Continuing Education in FISAT, Dr K S M Panicker, Principal of the Institute, said.The activities of the Centre will be formally inaugurated by former ISRO Chairman, G Madhavan Nair tomorrow, he said in a release.

To initiate the Aakash Android Development project, FISAT initially conducted a workshop on Aakash Android Application in the college with participation of experts using video conferencing from IIT Bombay. Thereafter the students were given special training on android platforms. Aakash Tablets sent from IIT Bombay for testing and developing were distributed among the students for comments.

Project ideas were invited from students, screened and the best 25 of them were selected for further study and developing into projects.

The projects will be “handed over” to Dr Kannan M Moudgalya, Professor, IIT Bombay and Member, Aakash Tablet project. It will also be hosted on www.millioncode.fisat.ac.in as second phase of ''One million Codes to Community programme'' launched by FISAT last year.
