COVID-19 Guidelines
- The Common Admission Test-2020 will be held by following the COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Central government.
- Candidates have to reach the examination centres 1 hour earlier than the reporting time.
- Entry will be provided after thermal scanning of candidates and other necessary checks.
- The candidates must have to wear a mask to get entry to the examination hall.
- Candidates should also carry their own hand sanitizer and transparent water bottles.
- Candidates must have to carry admit card and valid ID proof while reaching examination centre.
As per the latest exam pattern, the exam duration for CAT 2020 has been reduced to 120 minutes. Last year the exam duration was 180 minutes. The three sections will remain the same viz. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC); Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Ability (QA).
The authorities have allotted 40 minutes to each section which was previously 60 minutes. The paper will carry both MCQs and Non-MCQ type questions. The MCQs will have negative marking for the wrong answer while Non-MCQs do not carry any penalty of negative marking.
