Addressing the officials of the Social Welfare Department on the online cash transfer scheme, the collector said that the beneficiaries of the scholarships including SC ST, BC and Minorities students should have a bank account and also the unique Aadhaar number.
She wanted the officials to furnish the details of the students who did not have the Aadhaar number and also the bank accounts, gathering the information from the concerned colleges.
The Collector said that arrangements were being made to make payments online banking system to the beneficiaries of pensions, scholarships, farmers input subsidy and workers wages under MGNREGS from the new year.
''Nearly 7 lakh beneficiaries are yet to open their bank accounts. As such the district administration was according top priority for opening zero balance accounts to all the beneficiaries enabling them to receive benefits through Aadhaar seeded cash transfer scheme'' ,she added.
