NIRF Ranking 2024: The Ministry of Education (MoE) is all set to announce the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 today at 3 pm. The NIRF Ranking 2024 will be released on the official website i.e. nirfindia.org. The rankings evaluate and rank higher education institutions in India based on various criteria. The ranks will be announced by Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister through a press conference.
The rankings will feature the top colleges across a range of categories, including Engineering, Medical, Management, Dental, Pharmacy, Law, and others. Last year, a total of 8,688 institutes registered for the NIRF ranking. IIT Madras grabbed the top spot in the ‘Overall’ category last year, followed by IISc Bengaluru and IIT Delhi.
Institutions are evaluated based on several factors such as teaching and learning, research and professional practice, graduation results, outreach and inclusion, and perception. Each criterion is assigned a specific weight to reflect its importance. Teaching and learning, as well as research and professional practice, each account for 30 percent of the total weight.
The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is an important tool for assessing the performance of educational institutions, UGC Chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar has noted that these rankings do not influence a university’s funding or other regulatory matters.
