JNVST 2024: The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) will close the application window for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test for Class 6 (JNVST Class 6 2024) today. Students or parents (on their behalf) interested in participating in the same must fill out the application form for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test by the deadline. The candidates can visit the official website i.e. navodaya.gov.in. to complete the process.
The selection test will be conducted for admission to Class 6 in schools on April 12 and 18 for the academic session 2025-26. The exam will be two hours i.e. from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. The question paper will comprise three sections with objective-type questions. Currently, there are a total of 653 JNVs in 27 states and eight union territories.
JNVST Admission 2025: Eligibility criteria
Age Limit- Students must be born between May 1, 2013, and July 31, 2015, to be eligible for admission.
Academic Qualification- Candidates who passed Class 5 before the session 2024-25 or are repeaters are ineligible to apply.
For Rural Candidates-

For Rural Candidates-
- At least 75% of district seats are reserved for candidates from rural areas.
- The remaining seats are open to both urban and rural candidates based on merit.
- Must have completed Classes 3, 4, and 5 at government or recognized rural schools.
- Completion of Class 5 in the same district where admission is sought is mandatory.
- Candidates from the National Institute of Open Schooling require a rural status certificate confirming three years of residency and study in rural areas.
For Urban Candidates- Any candidate who attended school in an urban area during any session of Classes 3, 4, or 5 will be categorized as an urban candidate.
JNVST 2024: Documents required
- Photo of the candidate
- Signature of the candidate and his/her parent
- Aadhar details./recidense certificate
- Certificate verified by the headmaster of the current school (the school where the candidate studied till Class 5) mentioning the details of the candidate (in the prescribed format).
JNVST 2024: How to apply?
- Firstly, candidates need to visit the official website.
- Then click on the registration link available on the home page.
- Fill out the form and upload the required documents.
- Review the same and click on submit.
- Save the confirmation page and take a printout for future reference.
