JoSAA Counselling 2023 Round 5 Result Released: The Joint seat counselling for 116 colleges of IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs across the country is currently underway. The result of the seat allotment for the fifth round of counselling was announced on Friday, July 21, 2023. Students who have been allotted college seats in this round must report online by 5:00 pm on July 24. Failure to report within the given time will result in the cancellation of their allotted seat. The seat allotment for the sixth and final round will take place on July 26, 2023.
Last Chance to Withdraw IIT Seat until July 24th
Education expert Amit Ahuja stated that students who are unsatisfied with their allotted IITs in the fifth round seat allotment and wish to withdraw their admission by leaving the seat can do so by providing reasons through the withdrawal option on the JoSAA website until 5 pm on July 24th, the deadline for reporting in the fifth round. This will be the final opportunity for IIT seat withdrawals.
JoSAA will return the remaining amount after deducting the processing counselling fee of Rs 4,000. The sixth round of JoSAA counselling is the last chance for IIT admissions. Therefore, students who plan to appear for JEE-Advanced-2024 next year and are not satisfied with their current allotted IIT seat must withdraw their admission by 5 pm on July 24th; otherwise, they will not be eligible to take the JEE-Advanced exam next year.
For NITs, the sixth round of JoSAA counselling is also the last round. Additionally, special round counseling will be conducted by CSAB in two rounds for the remaining vacant seats. Students who have chosen the slide and freeze options must check the remaining examination fee and necessary documents for final admission on the website of the allotted colleges. Those who have opted for the float option will need to report in the sixth and final round according to the allotted college.
