Things you need to know about BITSAT
Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) conduct an annual entrance exam known as BITS Admission Test or BITSAT. It is an online test conducted by BITs, Pilani. There are three branches of the institute that are in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. It is deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC act. Those who qualify in the admission test can apply for the seat in any one of the three campuses.

The courses

• BITS Pilani offers BE Honors in Chemical, Computer Science, Civil, Electronics, Mechanical and Electronics and Instrumental. It also offers BPharm. In PG courses it offers M.Sc Honors in Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Biology Sciences, and Economics. Apart from that, it offers M.Sc Technology in Engineering, Information Systems, General Studies, and Finances.
• BITS Goa offers BE Honors and M.Sc Honors similar to BITS Pilani along with M.Sc Technology only in Information Systems.
• BITS Hyderabad has BE Honors, BParm and M.Sc Honors similar to BITS Pilani and M.Sc Technology only in Information Systems.

The application process

The whole admission application process is online. There are no criteria for paper based admission application. From filling up the form to paying the fees, you have to do everything online.

Who can apply?

It is considered as one of the toughest exams in India. Anyone with 80% and above aggregated marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics along with minimum 60% marks in each subject in 10+2 or equivalent course recognized by Central or State Board can apply for BITSAT. You can only apply twice for the entrance exam.

Structure of the exam

It is completely an online exam. The test is divided into four parts that are Physics, Chemistry, English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning and Mathematics. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. The questions are in MCQ format and based on NCERT books of 11th and 12th. It is better to go for some mock tests as it may get uneasy to solve online examination paper.

Examination centers

Beside Pilani, Hyderabad, and Goa, the exam will be held in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Noida, Nagpur, Mumbai, Lucknow, Kolkata, Indore, Coimbatore, Gurgaon, Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Chandigarh, Bangalore, and Ahmedabad.
