Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) announced to cancel the UP Board Class 10th Exam 2021. The board authorities have announced to promote the class 10th students on the basis of ninth grade marks. The decision has been taken in the high-level meeting held between UP State Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, State Deputy CM & Education Minister Dinesh Sharma and senior officials of the UPMSP.
For the first time in the 100-year history of the UP board, the Class X board will mark 100 percent success. In order to promote the students to the next class, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad has instructed schools to upload ninth grade marks of all students on the portal by May 24. According to the information received, promotions will be given to the students on the basis of the final result of board ninth grade.
Earlier, the highest overall pass percentage recorded in the class 10th board examination was 87.66 percent. Prior to this, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has made a number of announcements regarding the upcoming UP Class 10 and 12 board exams in 2021. However, there is no final decision on class 12th board examination dates have been made yet.
Students and parents from across the state are pleading with the state education department and UPMSP to postpone or cancel the upcoming board exams. The parents are claiming that holding physical exams during the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic will be an act of putting the life of a student at stakes.
The Uttar Pradesh government had postponed the Class 10 and 12 exams earlier due to rapid upsurge in Covid-19 cases throughout the state. The decision on Board & University examinations will be taken in consultation with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath after a meeting with officials.
The education department previously stated that UPMSP would make a final decision on whether or not to hold Class 10 and 12 exams by May 20, but no such announcement has yet been made.
A fake date sheet for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Class 10 and 12 examinations, dated May 17, was recently circulated on social media. Later, UPMSP Secretary Divya Kant Shukla clarified that the date sheet was fake and that the board had not yet issued a schedule. The final dates for the conduct of the Uttar Pradesh board exams have yet to be announced by the UPMSP. Once the state's second wave of the pandemic passed, the government will set the dates for the board exams.
Last year, UP Board Class 10th & 12th Exams were held between February 18 and March 6, 2020, but the
evaluation process was hampered due to the nationwide COVID-19 lockdown. Up to 56 lakh students appeared for the board examination last year. The overall pass percentage for class 10 was 83.31 percent, while the Class 12 pass percentage was 74.63 percent.
As many as 56,03,813 students will write the UP Board Secondary and Senior Secondary Exam 2021. A total of 29,94,312 students have been registered for UP Board Class 10th exams. While a total of 26,09,501 students have registered for UPMSP Class 12 exams this year.
