It is learnt that after a slow start, applications have gained momentum as the November 22 deadline nears. According to media reports, registrations remain significantly lower than last year’s 12 lakh applicants, with 7.8 lakh students registered so far.
While the JEE Main is a national-level entrance exam for engineering aspirants and serves as a preliminary test for JEE Advanced (required for admission to IITs), Initially only 5 lakh candidates had registered by November 10 (likely due to the festival season). However, the numbers rose steadily, with 1 lakh new registrations in the past few days.
The candidates may note that the application window for the same will remain open till 22 November 2024 by 9.00 pm. The examination will be commenced from 22 to 31 January 2025. The admit card for the examination will be released 3 days before the examination date.
JEE (Main) comprises of two papers. Paper 1 (B.E./B. Tech.) is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B. Tech) at NITS, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments.
It is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs. Paper 2 of JEE (Main) is conducted for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in the Country. JEE (Main)-2025 will be conducted in 13 languages — English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

- Firstly, candidates will have to visit the official website i.e. jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- Then click on the registration link available on the home page.
- Register yourself and fill out the application form.
- At last click on submit and save the confirmation page
