UGC NET 2022: National Testing Agency (NTA), the official examination conducting body for UGC NET 2022 (December 2021 and June 2022 cycle), will shut down the application window for the exam today on May 20. Candidates desirous of applying for the exam for the posts of Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor in colleges and universities of the country can apply on the official website of UGC NET. The application process is underway on the official website of UGC NET at ugcnet.nta.nic.in and the registration window will close at 5 pm today.
UGC NET 2022: What's Next?
After the conclusion of the application process for UGC NET 2022 exam, the NTA will open the application correction window for those candidates who want to edit their respective application forms. The application forms can be edited in the online mode only. A few days before the commencement of the exam, the admit card will also be released, which the candidates will be able to download from the official website of UGC NET. However, no date has been issued by NTA for the release of admit card and the conduct of UGC NET 2022 exam.
UGC NET 2022: Application fee
The general category candidates will be required to pay Rs 1,100 as the application fee amount. The amount has been fixed as Rs 550 for General-EWS/OBC-NCL category candidates. Meanwhile, the reserved category candidates will be charged Rs 275 for filling the application form fee.

2. Click on the exam application link flashing on the website homepage.
3. Register yourself on the website by providing important details and log in to the portal through your generated credentials.
4. Proceed to fill the application form and pay the application fee in the online mode.
5. After the fee payment process is complete, click on 'Submit'.
6. View the confirmation page and print its copy for future references.

UGC NET 2022: Exam details
The UGC NET 2022 exam will be held in either the first or second week of June 2022 for candidates seeking the posts of JRF and Assistant Professor in universities and colleges of India. The exam will be held in the Computer-based mode for a total of 82 subjects.
Notably, the exam is conducted twice a year. However, owing to the complications posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the UGC NET exam slated for December 2021 had to be postponed. Thus, in order to regularize the exam cycle for UGC NET, the NTA has merged the UGC NET December 2021 and June 2022 cycles.
