For the first time, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting NTA UGC NET without any break this year. The agency is conducting the National Eligibility Test (NET) 2019 entrance examination from June 21 to 28, 2019.

Why NET is conducted?
NET conducted to select candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor.  The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the national level examination across country for the post of Assistant Professor.
NTA UGC NET 2019: Important instructions
UGC NET 2019 will comprise only two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Earlier, the exam included three papers.
There is no break in between Paper 1 and Paper 2.
 
Total Number of Questions- 150 (Paper 1- 50, Paper 2- 100)
It is mandatory to attempt all the questions from both the papers.
Paper 2 will cover syllabi of both Paper 2 and Paper 3 as per the previous pattern of UGC NET.
 
NET examination Centres
The examination will be take place in two shifts – Morning and Evening.
Morning shift timing
From 9.30 am to 12.30 pm
Evening shift timing
From 2.30pm to 5.30pm
 
Result date
The NET 2019 result date will be released on July 15, 2019. Releasing date of answer key is yet to be announced.
