JEE Main 2023: National Testing Agency (NTA), the official examination conducting body for JEE Main 2023, has relaxed the 75% eligibility criteria. As per the latest changes, the students who have either secured 75% marks or are in the top 20 percentile in Class 12, will be eligible to seek admission to NITs and IITs.
JEE Main 2023: Criteria for Reserved category candidates
The NTA has fixed the criteria for general category candidates at 75%. Meanwhile, the reserved category candidates, who have secured 65% marks will be eligible to apply for NITs and IITs.
It is noteworthy that the said criteria had been set for admission into IITs earlier too. However, the criteria was not applicable for admission into NITs and IIITs, where the top 20 percentile criteria has further been added.
JEE Main 2023: Rule Implemented Back After 2 Yrs
Notably, the said eligibility criteria has been implemented back after two years. In the thick of the Covid-19 pandemic, the NTA had discarded the compulsion of 75% marks for the candidates in their board exams. However, students had demanded an exemption from this rule.
JEE Main 2023: Exam Date
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2023 has been lined up from January 24 until January 31, 2023. The exam will be conducted in the offline mode.
