The application process for the  ICMR Junior Research Fellowship 2020 is concluding today, June 16, 2020, by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). The application form for the entrance test is available on the official website of ICMR at icmr.nic.in. The candidates who wish to appear for the exam can visit the official website and fill the aplicati0on form online. The ICMR has commenced the online application process from May 16 and the last date to fill the application form is June 16, 2020. The ICMR JRF 2020 examination has been scheduled to be conducted on July 12, 2020.

ICMR JRF 2020 Eligibility criteria:


The candidates who wish to appear for the exam should have an MSc/MA or equivalent degree with minimum 55 % mark for General/EWS/OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates in the subjects mentioned.

Candidates who are appearing for the final exam in the 2019-2020 session can also apply.

ICMR JRF 2020 Age limit:

The upper limit for admission to the eligibility test is 28 years.

ICMR JRF 2020 Application Fees:
  • General, EWS, and OBC candidates will have to pay Rs. 1500 by way of application fee.
     
  • SC and ST candidates will have to pay Rs. 1200.
     
  • Candidates in the PwBD category are exempted from application fee.

ICMR JRF 2020 Exam Details:

ICMR JRF Exam will consist of questions from the following given subjects/topics

The Aptitude Section (Section A)

  • A scientific phenomenon in everyday life
  • General knowledge of sciences
  • Common statistics

The subject Specific Section (Section B & C)

  • Life Sciences
  • Social Science

ICMR JRF Entrance Exam 2020 Pattern:

ICMR JRF Exam will consist of one paper and the duration of the exam will be of 2 hours. The paper will consist of 2 Sections.

The Aptitude Section (Section A) will have 50 questions on

  • A scientific phenomenon in everyday life;
  • General knowledge in sciences; and
  • Common statistics.

All these questions would be compulsory with each question carrying 1 mark.

The subject Specific Section (Section B & C) would pertain to

  • Life Sciences and
  • Social Science.

About ICMR JRF 2020

The Indian Council of Medical Research conducts ICMR Junior Research Fellowship examination in collaboration with the Post-graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh by the ICMR. A total of 150 fellowships will be awarded through this exam by the ICMR and 120 will be in the field of Biomedical Science and 30 will be for work emphasis on Social Science.
