GATE 2025 Exam Dates: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee announced the exam dates for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 on July 12. The GATE exam will be conducted in a computer-based mode for a total of 30 papers.


IIT Roorkee will conduct the GATE exam on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025. The exam will be held in both forenoon and afternoon sessions. The application portal is expected to open in the last week of August.

 

This year, IIT Roorkee is the organizing institute for the GATE exam. The GATE exam is jointly conducted by IISc and seven IITs, including IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee.

 

The exam is conducted on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB) - GATE, which is part of the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.

Candidates who pass the GATE exam can apply for master's and direct doctoral programs in fields such as engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, and humanities. They may also receive financial assistance for these programs in institutions supported by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and other government agencies.

 

GATE 2025: Exam details 

  • The exam will be conducted in English.
  • Candidates will have the option to take one or two test papers from the approved two-paper combinations.
  • The scores obtained by the candidates will be valid for a period of three years from the date of result declaration.
