Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has announced to cancel the 12th Board Exams 2021 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic havoc across the country. The CISCE has announced the decision right after the CBSE cancelled class 12th board examinations this year.

The CISCE's chief executive and secretary Gerry Arathoon announced to cancel the Indian School Certificate, ISC board examinations in the interest of students. The decision came on the lines of cancellation of the board exams by CBSE, at a high level meeting under the chairmanship of Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. 

Earlier, the Prime Minister has announced to cancel the CBSE Class 12th Board Exams, this year. After hearing all briefed on the possible options for the 12th board examination, the Central Government announced its final decision in the interest of students. Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated in his announcement that the health and safety of our students is the utmost priority and there would be no compromise with this. 

Amid the rapid surge in COVID-19 cases across the country, the Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) announced their final decisions on conducting the board exams. Prior to this, the CISCE's chief executive and secretary Gerry Arathoon announced to postpone the exams and said that the new dates for class 10th and 12th board examinations will be notified in the first week of June by monitoring the situation prevailing at that time. The CISCE Board Exams 2021 were scheduled to be held from May 4.
