CBSE Central Sector Scholarship 2024-25: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Department of Higher Education, has begun the registrations for the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for college and university Students (CSSS) from today. Interested candidates can register for the same and can also complete the renewal of scholarships by visiting the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) i.e. scholarships.gov.in. 

According to the official notification, the registration for fresh applications; the first renewal for 2023; the second renewal for 2022, the third renewal for 2021, and the fourth renewal for 2020, is available for the candidates. The last date to submit application forms for the renewal and fresh applications is 31 October 2024.

The objective of the CSSS scheme is to support meritorious students financially and help them to pursue higher studies The candidates who wish to apply must have a family income of less than Rs 4.5 lakh per annum. This scholarship scheme aims to offer 82,000 scholarships per year out of which 41,000 are for boys and 41,000 for girls, which has been further divided amongst the state education boards based on the state’s population for the age group of 18 to 25 year students.

The students who secure above 80% in their relevant stream of education in Class 12 can apply for the same. Those who are already availing of any other scholarships are not eligible for this scheme. Candidates will get financial assistance of Rs 12,000 per annum for the first three years and Rs 20,000 per annum for the fourth and fifth years.
