Advisory has been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recently for class 10 and 12 students.
After a week the board exams will start, the advisory issued is for the admit cards.
The advisory notifies that—
Several instances of not issuing admit card by various CBSE affiliated schools on the ground of performances of students in the pre-board tests which are conducted by schools internally have come to the notice of the CBSE.
Also, some of the schools are charging money for the release of admit cards.
The practice of withholding admit a card has been viewed very seriously by the board.
Rule 15 of CBSE exam bye-laws is clear, which says “In no case the Heads of affiliated schools shall detain eligible candidates from appearing at the exam.”
It may be noted that the board issues admit card only to those candidates which have been sponsored by schools in their finalized list of candidate (LOC) of class 10/12.
Therefore, the school has already confirmed eligibility of such candidates for appearing in Board exams.
This being the position, it is reiterated that holding of Admit Card/not allowing eligible candidate to appear in Practical/ Theory exam in class 10/12 is violative of CBSE exam bye-laws.
The school will also not charge any fee for issue of Admit Card to the eligible candidate.
