According to the announcement on the CAT 2014 IIMs website, Registration for the Common Admission Test (CAT) for admission to Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) will start from August 6.
This will also include registration options for the six new IIMs recently announced by the government in the budget.
The examination pattern for Common Admission Test (CAT) for entrance to IIMs and other prestigious business schools for academic session 2015-16 have been changed.
Issuing a notification Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore said that "Earlier, candidates appearing for CAT were getting 140 minutes to solve the paper, but now time has been increased to 170 minutes."
The applicants will get 30 minutes more as the number of questions will be more this time. In every section of CAT ; 50 questions each will be asked. The online regsitration for CAT would begin on Wednesday.
The online registration portal for CAT - 2014 has started functioning where applicants can get all the essential information about changes in CAT.
"Henceforth, in sections of Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, and Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning, the candidates will have to answer 50 questions each instead of earlier 30," the spokesperson said.
CAT will be held on November 16 and 22 across 99 cities at 354 examination centres in four sessions.
The result will be declared in the third week of December. On the other hand the evaluation process for CAT exam will be declared before the exam.
The applicants appearing for CAT- 2014 will have to sign an agreement so that they will not be able to give information of their paper either in written or electronic format.
