AFCAT 02 2022: Indian Air Force is conducting the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 2022 for Group A Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. The application process commenced from June 01 and the last date to apply for the  AFCAT-II 2022 is 30th  June 2022. Aspiring candidates can apply for the AFCAT through the official website careerindianairforce.cdac.in or afcat.cdac.in

The Indian Air force has advised candidates appearing for  admission tests to check  the eligibility criteria thoroughly of each category before applying for the AFCAT exams. In the article, we will provide you detailed information about the eligibility criteria respective to each branch released in the AFCAT 2022 notification.

Primarily, the candidate applying for the AFCAT Exams should be a citizen of India. The Indian Air Force will conduct Air Force Common Admission Test for entry to the categories mentioned below along with their own special eligibility criterias;

1. AFCAT Entry: In the Category selection will be made in 3 Branches, namely:

(i). Flying 

(ii). Ground Duty(Technical)

(iii). Ground Duty(Non-Technical)

2. Meteorology Entry

3. NCC Special Entry

AFCAT 2022: Detailed Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:

Flying Branch and NCC Special Entry  

The Candidate must be between the age of 20 to 24 years as on 01 July, 2023. This means that the aspiring candidate must be born between 02 July, 1999 to 01 July 2003.

Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical)  

The Candidate must be between the age of 20 to 26 years as on 01 July, 2023.the date of birth for the aspiring candidate must be fall between 02 July, 1999 to 01 July 2003.

Educational Qualifications

Flying Branch and NCC Special Entry: 

(i).The candidates should  have passed 10+2 with 50% marks each in Maths and Physics. 

(ii). The candidate must have completed graduation with a 3-years degree course securing at least 60% marks.

(iii). For BE/Btech candidate, a four year Degree course for any recognized university with a minimum 60% marks.

Ground Duty (Technical)

(i) Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) 

While applying for the AFCAT 2022, the candidate must have at least 50% marks in Physics and Mathematics each at 10+2 level. Furthermore, the candidate must also have a 4-year degree in electronics engineering and technology field  with a minimum 60% passing marks.

(ii) Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) 

The candidate applying for the vacancy of Aeronautical engineer must have 50% marks in Physics and Mathematics each at 10+2 level. Along with this, the candidate should also possess a 4-year degree in the Aerospace Engineering field with a minimum 60% passing marks. 

Ground Duty (Non-Technical) 

(i) Administration & Logistics: The Candidate must have Passed 10+2 and Graduate Degree (Minimum three years degree course) in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum 60% passing marks.

(ii) Accounts Branch: For this the candidate must have passed 10+2 and have  done graduation in Finance/ Accounts field with a minimum of 60% passing marks.

(iii) Education: The candidate applying for this branch must have passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with 50% marks in any discipline.

Meteorology Entry
The candidate must have passed graduate degree course with 50% mark in any science Streams.

Physical Qualification:

Flying Branch:

(i). For both  Male and Female candidates the minimum height will be 162.5 cm. 

(ii). The Weight criteria is decided on the basis of height and weight ratio. Generally the weight should be in the range between 53 kgs to 79 kgs.

Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical):

The minimum height for entry into ground duty branches for Male will be 157.5 cm and for Females will be 152 cm.For candidates belonging to Gorkhas and North- Eastern Region of India, height limit will be 152 cm and for Individuals of Lakshadweep the acceptable height can be 155.5 cm.
