Students of Class 12 scheduled to take the mathematics paper of the Punjab state board on Tuesday were in for a shock after being told that the paper was leaked and hence, stood cancelled.
The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) today directed the district education officers to not open the sealed question papers of the subject received by them after reports of an alleged paper leak, board official Komal Singh said.
The test was to start at 2 pm and the PSEB got information of the 'leak' at around 1 pm. It then sent instructions about its cancellation, which was conveyed to the candidates after they had entered the exam halls, Singh said.
Now, the examination would be held on March 31.
Singh said a high level probe was ordered and an FIR lodged against unknown persons.
The leaked paper had gone viral on social media.
