The extension of validity period for Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) certificates has been extended from seven years to lifetime with retrospective effect from 2011. “The respective State Governments/ Union Territories will take necessary action to revalidate/ issue fresh TET certificates to those candidates whose period of 7 years has already elapsed,” reads a statement published in PIB Delhi.
About TET Examination:
- It will induce the teaching standards and quality education in government schools.
- Candidates, who had appeared in the TET exam, can apply for teaching vacancies issued by the government.
- There is no restriction on the number of attempts. Therefore, a candidate can appear in the TET exam as many times as he/she wish to improve his/her score.
- The TET qualification certificate will now remain valid for lifetime from the date of issue.
