Mathematics is a subject which put students in trouble in any examination whether its primary school or high school. If students are afraid of mathematics subject, then now they should practice in this manner. This will help them to keep taking interest in the subject as well as score good marks in the exam.

Actually, the Punjab School Education Board has taken a new initiative with an intention to build confidence for maths subject in the mind of the school children. The board will introduce fairs for mathematics subject in all middle and high schools.

The program is being run by the department for qualitative improvement in mathematics in all schools under 'Padho Punjab, Padhao Punjab' project. Under this, a special training programme was organised for two days to give training to teachers of mathematics of all middle, high and senior secondary schools. Soon fairs for mathematics will be organized in schools in the next phase of this.

- The first phase fair will take place on August 1, prior to four days pre-fair will be organized from July 27 to 31.
- The second phase fair will take place on August 7. Before that four days, pre-fair will be held. It has been mandatory for all children from class 6th to class 10th to take part in it.

Fair preparations will be done in the pre-fair. Under the supervision of teachers, children will display any activity or model of mathematics. For this, the school principal will determine the last three periods of classes.

The timing of this activity will be specially inspected. On the day of the fair, the Principal will invite people from local areas, parents, SMC members and students from other classes. All the principals, faculty and district education officers will visit other schools and inspect the fairs.

It has been planned to make groups according to the number of students in the school.
- The middle group will have one child from the sixth, seventh and eighth class.
- In the High School Group, one child of Ninth and Tenth will be taken.

The teachers have been told to inspire the children to bring old cartons, wool, buttons, scissors, charts etc. from their home. The children who will be part of the fair will give full information about their model. Separate boards and charts will be arranged for obtaining feedback from people joining the fair.
