The National Institute of Open Schooling has launched live sessions on the virtual open school platform in collaboration with Microsoft and Ed4All. The live interactive classes were launched on 29th October 2021. The new initiative of the NIOS is powered by BLEAP. 

Saroj Sharma, Chairperson, NIOS launched the interactive session in the presence of Lamchonghoi Sweety Changsan, Joint Secretary (Institutions), Department of SE&L, Ministry of Education, Government of India. The launch of virtual schools will imply more focus on non-conventional teaching and learning patterns. This will help the learners with sorted online end-to-end solutions to the problems from the time of admission to certification. 

The live classes will enable the live interaction between the students and the subject experts. The student would be able to use the recorded videos, virtual labs, and would be able to turn in the assignments given by their tutor. The assignment will be assessed online and the marks for the same will be given to the students.

Lamchonghoi Sweety Changsan, Joint Secretary (Institutions), Department of SE&L, Ministry of Education, Government of India appreciated the team behind the successful launch of the event on such short notice of time. She also acknowledged that this new initiative will make a huge impact and a difference in the lives and learning patterns of millions of students. Through these live interactive classes, the students would be able to focus on problem-solving and critical thinking skills development.
