Rakesh Sharma
Rakesh Sharma born in the year 1949, joined the NDA in the year 1966 as an Air Force Cadet. He then joined the Indian Air Force in the year 1970 as a test pilot and became a squadron leader in the year 1984 after a 14-year job and the same year he also made his name in history. In 1984, he was selected as the first Indian astronaut, and with this Rakesh Sharma became the first Indian to go into space.
He traveled to space on the Soviet spacecraft Salute 7K. The conversation between Rakesh Sharma from space and the then Indian Prime Minister, the late Smt. Indira Gandhi is still remembered today when the Prime Minister asked him what India is looking like from space and his reply was “Saare Jahan Se Achcha, Hindostan Hamara”. On his return from space, he was awarded the ‘Hero of Soviet Union’ and ‘Ashoka Chakra’ by the Government of India.
Vijay Kumar Singh
General VK Singh, one of the most popular military officers of the country, was born in the year 1951. Growing up in a military family, General VK Singh was educated in his country service from his childhood. His brother, father, and grandfather all three have served in the Indian Army. He had also been a part of NCC before joining NDA. The Indian Air Force was the first choice of General VK Singh, who worked in the Indian Army, but on the recommendation of his father, he was sent to the Indian Army. After joining the Indian Army in the year 1970, General VK Singh was relieved from the Indian Army job in the year 2012 but not with the service of the country. He then entered politics and is currently the Minister of State for External Affairs in the Modi government.
Sandeep Unnikrishnan
The name of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan is inscribed with golden letters in the history of NDA. Born in a Malayali family in the year 1977, Major Unnikrishnan always wanted to join the Indian Army. With this determination, he joined the NDA in 1995. In 2007, he was selected in the Special Action Group of the National Security Guards (NSG). Let us tell you that the soldiers of India's commando NSG are called. Sandeep Virgati was received while rescuing civilians from the Taj Hotel during the 26/11 terror attack on Mumbai. After which he was awarded the highest gallantry award Ashoka Chakra.
Anuj Nayyar
Captain Anuj Nayyar's might during the Kargil War made him immortal in India's history. Captain Anuj Nayyar, one of the meritorious students of Army Public School Dhaula Kuan, did very well from childhood as well as in sports. After enrolling in the NDA in 1997, he was enrolled in the Jat Regiment. During the Kargil war in 1999, he killed 9 Pakistani soldiers, demonstrating amazing valor. He was awarded the Paramveer Chakra, India's second-highest gallantry award, for his heroism.
Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore
The name of Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has been written in golden letters in the Indian sports world. He holds the record for India’s first individual silver medal in the Olympics. After graduating from NDA, he joined the Indian Military Academy. During which he was awarded the Sikh Regiment Gold Medal and Sword of Honor. He retired from the Indian Army in 2013, after which he entered Indian politics. In the first cabinet of the Modi government, he took charge as Minister of Information and Broadcasting. Presently, he is a Member of Parliament from Jaipur Rural Lok Sabha constituency.
