Mann Ki Baat update: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his monthly radio broadcast 'Mann Ki Baat' on Sunday (September 29, 2024), urged urged people to buy 'Made in India' products in the coming festival season.
 
“In this festive season you can once again reiterate your old resolves. Anything you buy, should necessarily be 'Made in India'… Anything you gift that too should be Made In India. Merely buying earthen lamps is not ‘Vocal for Local'. The ‘Make in India’s programme is completing its 10 years, asserting that export is rising in every sector and the rise in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is a testimony to its success. It has helped local manufacturers a lot,” said PM Modi,  the broadcast is completing 10 years.

He also took to X (formerly Twitter) and posted: "Create in India - A wonderful opportunity for the creators."






What is ‘Make in India’?
‘Make in India’ initiative was launched globally in September 2014 as a part of India’s renewed focus on Manufacturing.

‘Make in India’ Objective
 The objective of the Initiative is to promote India as the most preferred global manufacturing destination. Since the launch of this landmark initiative, the Government of India has taken several reform initiatives to create an enabling environment for providing an impetus to manufacturing, design, innovation and startups. 

India has emerged as the fastest growing economy globally. India’s rate of growth of 7.5% is accelerating and it remains an oasis of growth in the midst of a subdued economic landscape across the world.
