In addition to this, they also exemplified the steadfast political will to reinforce innovative and transformative actions for delivering inclusive, equitable and quality education for all. This day also focuses on the objective to promote the role and significance of education among everyone.

UNESCO has designed the theme for International Day of Education 2022 as "Changing Course, Transforming Education". This year's theme is aimed at welcoming and fortifying the revival of education. The basic objective of this year's theme for International Day of Education is to recover the education level to its usual form. Adding to this, it also emphasizes the need to redress the significance of education for the benefit of upcoming generations.
Education is a tool which can be put to use to achieve progress and growth, but nowadays the access to this tool is profoundly unequal due to the digital divide. The Covid-19 pandemic brought the digital divide to notice when all schools, colleges, universities and other academic institutions shut their doors and switched to the online mode of learning.
