Constitution Day 2024: Constitution Day of India, also known as Samvidhan Divas, Constitution Day is celebrated annually in India and commemorates the adoption of the Indian Constitution by the Constituent Assembly on November 26, 1949. It came into effect on January 26, 1950, which is marked as Republic Day.

It was officially declared in 2015 to honour the values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution. Samvidhan Diwas, or Constitution Day, serves as a powerful reminder of India's enduring constitutional legacy. Constitution Day 2024: History

This day was drafted under Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s leadership, the Constitution aimed to ensure justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity for all Indian citizens. In 2015, under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the government designated November 26 as Constitution Day to promote constitutional values and coincide with Ambedkar’s 125th birth anniversary.

The Constitution Day is primarily to honor Dr BR Ambedkar and promote awareness of constitutional values, rights, and duties. This day raises awareness of constitutional ideals, rights, and commitments while emphasizing justice, liberty, equality, and brotherhood, and fostering national solidarity.
