The application process for the YUVIKA programme has been extended by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The applications for the Young Scientist Programme have been commenced on February 3, 2020. The  ISRO has tweeted regarding the date extension of applications for the programme. The application forms are available on the official website i.e. isro.gov.in. The eligible candidates who aspire to join the YUVIKA programme can apply in the online mode for a further 10 days.

The Young Scientist Programme, Yuva Vigyani Karyakram (YUVIKA) has been scheduled to be conducted from May 11 to May 22, 2020, by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). All eligible and interested candidates can visit the official website and fill the application form. The program is conducted for school students between classes 8-9. 

The program is aimed at imparting basic scientific knowledge to the students on Space Science and Space Technology. The programme is conducted during the summer holidays of kids across schools in India and it involves two weeks of exclusive discussion sessions with experts, lab visits, facility visits, experience sessions with great scientists and practical sessions.

Step 1: Applicants are required to visit the official website of ISRO Link opens at 2:00 PM today
Step 2: Go to the registration section of YUVIKA Program on the homepage
Step 3: Enter your details like name, schools name, the class you are in and other details required
Step 4: The students who have passed standard 8 and are in class 9 are only eligible to apply for the program
Step 5: Save the details and submit the application form.

ISRO Young Scientist Program 2020: Other details

The applicants can only be from 9th standard across Indian Schools. The students of class 8 and class 10 are not allowed to participate. The program will be conducted at 4 ISRO centres across India with all residential facilities provided to the students there. The centres will be Ahemdabad, Bangalore, Shillong, and Thiruvananthapuram. The students will be selected on the basis of merit in standard 8 examinations and their extracurricular activities. If there is a tie seen the students from the rural background will be given more weightage.
