Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is conducting a BE (Part-time) course along with regular BTech course in the Faculty of Engineering & Technology.

The BE (Part-time) course was started in the year 1979 to supplement the additional qualification for Diploma Engineering holders who are already in job/employment.

The BE (Part-time) students are agitating for the conversion of their course into a full-fledged one.

The Dean and Heads of Departments of Engineering Faculty and Dean Students’ Welfare held a meeting with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the nodal agency of the Government of India for technical education and JMI is waiting for their response as to the modalities of conversion of the course from part-time into a full-time programme.

Few students, despite knowing that the matter is pending now with AICTE, went ahead by design on a hunger strike, disturbed the classes and locked the entrance Gate no.7 of the university which provides access to faculties of Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and the Central Library.

There are certain disruptive forces who are trying to foment trouble by disturbing the classes and overall peaceful environment of the university.

JMI appeals to its regular students to be aware of the factual position and not be misguided by vested elements and help in maintaining the healthy academic ambience on campus.

Also, Jamia Millia Islamia’s Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) has launched the much awaited one-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Design Thinking (PGDEID) from the upcoming academic session 2018-2019 earlier this month.
