The High court of Chhattisgarh has notified the recruitment for the post of Stenographer.

The applications will be released from October 12, 2018.

The aspirants can apply online through the prescribed format for the post.

There are around 61 Stenographers post vacant for which the aspirants can apply online from October 12, 2018.

Vacancies (Category wise)
General:
there are a total of 21 posts for the candidates belonging to the general category in which includes the 6 posts for women and 1 for physically challenged.
SC: there are 10 posts vacant for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste category which includes 3 posts for women and 1 for physically challenged.
ST: there are around 21 posts vacant for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes category which includes 6 posts for women and 2 for physically challenged.
OBC: there are around 8 posts vacant for the candidates belonging to the Other Backward Class category which includes 2 posts for women and 1 post for physically challenged.

Eligibility Criteria
Nationality:
The aspirants appearing for the post should be a citizen of India.

Age Criteria
General:
candidates belonging to the general category should attain a minimum age of 21 years and maximum age of 30 years as on January 1, 2018. As for the candidates who are a bonafide resident of Chhattisgarh the maximum age limit is 40 years.

SC/ST/OBC: the upper age limit for the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes of Chhattisgarh State are 35 years.

Women: the upper age limit for the women appearing for the post is 40 years. But this age is only for the local residents of Chhattisgarh.

Government Servants: Whether permanent or temporary the Government Servants will have the upper age limit of 45 years.

Educational Criteria
Candidates appearing for the post should be a Graduate from any recognized university. He must have cleared Shorthand Examination and typewriting examination in English from any recognised University/ Board. The candidate should at least be able to type 80 words per minute and 30 words per minute respectively.

Procedure of selection
The candidates will be selected on the basis of a written examination.

The examination will be held in two parts:
Part 1:
Written Exam for the post of Stenographer:
The exam will be of total 1 hour which will consist of 60 marks. these marks will be divided into different subjects as 20 marks for English Grammar, 10 marks for Essay Writing, 20 marks for making a sentence with English words given and 10 marks for the computer applications.

Part 2:
Shorthand Speed:
The second part consists of the practical exam for testing the Shorthand speed which consists of a total of 50 marks.
