The University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar has declared that the UGC National Eligibility Test (UGC NET 2024) registration for the June session will start next week. The UGC NET exam 2024 is conducted twice a year in June and December which allows the applicants to work as assistant professors or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges.

The UGC chairman on X said, “NTA is working on launching the NET application process for the June 2024 session sometime next week.” The update came while announcing the decision to allow all higher educational institutions (HEIs) to use UGC NET score for admission to PhD programs for the academic session 2024-25 instead of holding different entrance tests.”

Interested candidates can fill out their application form by visiting the official website i.e.ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The exam will be held in computer–based test (CBT) mode for 83 subjects. Also, candidates need to pay the application fee for registering in this exam. 

The candidates belonging to the General category will pay 1,150 rupees as registration fees, whereas the candidates belonging to general EWS, OBC-NCL will pay 600 rupees, and SC, ST, PwD, and transgender will have to pay 325 rupees as registration fees.

How to register for the UGC NET June 2024 exam? 
  • Firstly candidates need to visit the official website i.e.,ugcnet.nta.nic.in 
  • Then through the registration portal create a new account. 
  • Fill out the application form by entering personal information, educational qualifications, and other required details. 
  • Upload scanned copies of your photograph and signature as per the specified format and size.
  • Pay the application fee through the available online payment options.
  • At last, submit the application form.
  • Candidates can download and print the confirmation page for future reference.
