Steady power supply poses challenge to discoms during exam time
Uninterrupted electricity supply during the ensuing examination session poses a challenge to distribution companies, particularly in south Odisha.

The annual matriculation examination will start from Monday, while the Plus II (Theory) tests and Class X and XII Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations will commence from March 2. Some examinations will continue till the third week of April.

Last year, power distribution company Southco came under severe criticism for power cuts during the examinations.

"The adminstration should convane a meeting to ensure uninterrupted power supply during examination", said president, BJD women's wing, Ganjam, Mamata Bisoi, a corporator of Berhampur Municipal Corporation.

"We will try our best to provide power without disruptions during the examinations," said executive engineer (Southco) Lenka Prasad.
