The Uttar Pradesh Govt is all set to felicitate meritorious students of CBSE and ICSE Boards also with free laptops.
A lot of conversation is going on to implement this facility for students of the state. Uttar Pradesh government had distributed laptops among UP Board students in 2012.
A proposal will soon be tabled before Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in this context.
After a nod this proposal will be tabled in cabinet. SAPA Govt within coming of power had initiated the scheme of distributing laptops to Class 12th pass out students of UP Board, CBSE and ICSE Board.

A total of 14,35351 laptops have been distributed till date after initiation of this scheme. The govt in the meanwhile had closed laptop distribution and again started it in 2014. More than 37680 laptops couldn't be distributed due to a halt in this scheme.

After starting the scheme again in 2014 Govt felicitated 625 Intermediate and 424 Class 10th students with laptops.
