CMAT results declared, Boys outshine girls
Hendre Omkar Pravinchandra of Kolhapur topped the AICTE-conducted Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) for admission in management programmes in the country as the results declared today showed the average score of students at 69.91 per cent.

Of the 88,942 students, Pravinchandra, who appeared from Delhi, scored 317 out of 400.

There were 438 students who scored zero and 1,771 who achieved negative markings. The lowest scored was -45 (minus 45) as the test has negative markings also, AICTE Chairman S S Mantha told reporters here.

The top 19 ranks went to the boys. CMAT scores are used by institutes in several states to offer admissions for MBA programmes under government quota.

Several private universities also offer admissions to students on the basis of CMAT score.

The online test was conducted from February 20 to 24 for the academic year 2014-15.

Candidates who already appeared in the first test were allowed to appear for the second test so that the better of the two scores could be used for admission.

Mantha said it was proposed to take CMAT off-shore and conduct it in South and South East Asian countries.
