The Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) qualifying certificates validity has been extended from seven years to lifetime. The announcement has been made by the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal "Nishank" through his official Twitter account. The candidates who holds the certificate of TET examination can check the official updates provided below.

The extension of validity period for Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) certificates has been extended from seven years to lifetime with retrospective effect from 2011. “The respective State Governments/ Union Territories will take necessary action to revalidate/ issue fresh TET certificates to those candidates whose period of 7 years has already elapsed,” reads a statement published in PIB Delhi.



About TET Examination:
- It will induce the teaching standards and quality education in government schools.
- Candidates, who had appeared in the TET exam, can apply for teaching vacancies issued by the government.
- There is no restriction on the number of attempts. Therefore, a candidate can appear in the TET exam as many times as he/she wish to improve his/her score.
- The TET qualification certificate will now remain valid for lifetime from the date of issue.
