The Court stated that the exam, which is scheduled to be taken by approximately 4.26 lakh students, cannot be stopped just because candidates may find it difficult to get through it.

The court further observed that the authorities responsible have taken proactive measures to guarantee that the CA tests do not hinder the candidates' right to vote.

According to the representatives of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), rescheduling of the examination for the second week of June, could have caused chaos. Additionally, the added that every effort has been made to guarantee that there be no tests on the day of the scheduled polls.

27 Aspiring CA Candidates had petitioned the court to postpone the tests. Their argument stated that as the exam timetable conflicts with the Lok Sabha elections, the exams need to happen after the successful completion of polls. Plea also mentioned potential problems with transport and other matters because of the Lok Sabha Election dates.

Previously, Students had also written an open letter to Prime Minister Modi requesting his intervention in the case to postpones the exam.

The unaltered dates of the CA Inter examinations for group 1 in 2024 are 3, 5, and 9 May ; for group 2, the dates are 11, 15, and 17 May . The dates of the 2024 CA Final Exams are set for 2, 4, and 8 May for group 1 and 10, 14, and 16 May for group 2.

The exam dates were postponed by the ICAI as they were conflicting with the 2024 Lok Sabha general elections, which are set for 19 April to 1 June. At first, 3May-13 May was the date of the CA Inter examinations 2024, and 2 May-12 May was the date of the CA Final group 1 and 2 exams.
