The nine-day event to be held at the Parade ground here will see a line-up of 200 publishers.
The fair organised by the National Book Trust will be jointly inaugurated by Governor K K Paul and Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.
"The fair is being organised with the primary aim of inculcating a habit of reading among students," state Higher Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat told reporters after reviewing preparations for the event.
Students who will produce their identity cards will get a concession of 20 per cent on all books.
A discount of 10 per cent will be given on all books and 20 per cent on the books based on lives of important national figures to the general public, he said.
