Rajasthan govt reduces probation period in higher jobs
In an effort to fill up the gap and create better employment opportunities in Rajasthan, state cabinet today decided to reduce the "probation period" in direct recruitment on higher posts from two years to one year.

"Reduction in probation period would be beneficial in higher posts of professor, associate professor, and assistant professor in universities including medical and health and other departments," said Rajendra Rathore, State Parliamentary Affairs Minister while highlighting the minutes of cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje held at Udaipur.

The state government would also provide "pay protection" to aspiring candidates at higher posts and those who come from Central government services to Rajasthan, Rathore said.

In a policy decision, the cabinet also decided to introduce "pay minus pension" scheme for retired employees when re-employed in the state services, he said, adding that there would also be a provision of consolidated pay to the qualified personnels who retire specially from medical and health department and other important departments.

In yet another benefits to the employees, the cabinet decided to raise family pension in case of death of an employee from 30 to 50 per cent till the age of 67 years, Rathore said, adding, earlier this was 30 per cent up to the age of 65 years.
