The newly appointed chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia Dr. Najma Heptulla would unfurl a national flag and unveil the 'Wall of Heroes' at the campus on June 19, 2017.
Heptulla, whose visit to the university is scheduled on June 19, would unfurl a national flag hoisted on a 102-foot- high pole near the entrance of the vice-chancellor's office, a release from the university said on Thursday.
The release further pointed out that the chancellor would also unveil the 'Wall of Heroes' in the Dr Zakir Husain library. The wall would display the photographs of the 21 Param Vir Chakra recipients, the country's highest military decoration.
Jamia Millia Islamia Vice-Chancellor Talat Ahmad confirmed the development, saying she has been appointed for a term of five years. 77-year old Heptulla succeeds Lt. Gen. (Retd.) M.A. Zaki, who completes his five-year term this month.
