Jamia Ranked Among Top 1000 Institutions Worldwide Yet Again

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has made it to the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking 2019.

The university has been ranked 801-1000 this year out of 1250 institutions across the world.

This is the second time the university is featuring in the coveted list.

JMI has improved its score from previous THE ranking in all the five parameters: teaching, research, citations, industry income and international outlook.

These parameters are constituted of 13 metrics each.

Teaching, industry income and citations were found to be the strongest pillars while making the assessment for JMI.

Prof. Shahid Ashraf, offg. Vice-Chancellor, JMI expressed his happiness over the consistently high ranking that JMI has been scoring over the years.

He said that this is the second time that the university has made it among the top 1000 institutions worldwide which reflect JMI’s growing international presence and outreach besides the university’s impetus on high-quality research, publications, and teaching. 

JMI hopes to improve upon its performance for higher ranking in future, Prof Ashraf added.

‘THE’ World University Rankings, according to its website, is the only global performance table to date that lists more than 1200 top research-intensive universities across the five parameters on which it bases the rankings.
